Ice lived with us since August 27, 2014.

For one and a half year, I was looking for a new male to our cattery. A blue silver without cs was preferred. In the end I found him in Poland with cattery Siburcat.
But when the pick-up date came closed, the doubt whether he was really silver started. And finally, after much deliberation, the breeder found him not silver.
Well, there you are, plane ticket booked, down payment done, but we had a little hiccup.

Fortunately, we are well able to talk about it and discussed various proposals. One was to choose one of two black silver brothers. So that is what we did.
So we have chosen for our Ice.

To keep a long story short, Ice is a big cuddle bear, who really enjoys being with you. He also really likes to turn the room upsite down with our Lemon. Because they are nearly the same age, they are everywhere together :-) He has a very promising coat and pattern, and very bright silver.

Sadly his development went not according normal expectations and we have had some worried about Ice, certainly in the last five months. He grew, but his weight did not grew with his body.
When our vet and us were at the point to start further research, such as blood tests etc., the total picture of Ice changed a little, he gained a little weight.
Not developing as "everybody else" can have all kinds of causes, and his situation was certainly not alarming at that time. Being a growing male cat between the age of 6 til 12 month , all filed with hormones, with all those lovely female cats around you, is not easy. We thought that all that energy he used for his hormonal activities, may caused his lack of gaining weight.

But then the horror unveiled. It was time for the HCM and PKD tests. First his heart was checked bij ultrasound, all good, no HCM and a good heart. But then his kidneys are checked. During his PKD research he got the diagnosis CIN and lymphoma cancer. Found during the Ultrasound and confirmed by a biopsy. And all this on his first birthday.

Such an amount of cancer in such a young cat :-( We could not let him go at that moment. We kept him close to us for almost 2 weeks. But we saw that he got more problems due to the cancer. And we absolutely did not want to let him suffer in any way, especially now we knew what the problem was.

We are so sad and devastated that we had to say goodbye to our dear Ice. No words to discribe this lost, this lost of such a young and promising live. And for us again cancer. To have to euthanize 2 sweet guys in 4 month, it is to much :-(

Now we take the time, to try giving it a place in our mind en heart and dwell on the good memories, so that the warm place in our hearts will stay filled with beautiful and sweet memories of Ice.
